  1. Rights and Permissions: Participants must possess all necessary rights for the audio and video content used in their films. If the film is in a language other than English, subtitles must be provided.

  2. Non-Refundable Entry Fees: All entry fees are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the submission.

  3. Multiple Entries: Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted, but each entry must be accompanied by a separate submission and entry fee.

  4. Final Decision: The decision of the festival selection committee is final and binding.

  5. Promotional Usage: The festival organizers reserve the right to screen posters and trailers of selected films for promotional and educational purposes.

  6. Original Work: Films submitted must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe upon any copyrights or rights of third parties. Participants agree to have obtained all necessary copyright permissions for music, sound, images, etc., used in their films.

  7. Changes to Festival: The organizers reserve the right to change, cancel, or reschedule the festival dates, venue, awards, and categories without prior notice to contestants.

  8. Discretion of Awards: The organizers reserve the right not to award any or all of the prizes.

  9. Payment Responsibility: By submitting a film, the submitter acknowledges that they are responsible for paying the entry fees and that Kalakari Film Festival is not coercing them to do so.

  10. Waiver of Legal Action: The submitter agrees not to take any legal action against Kalakari Film Festival regarding the submission, selection, or screening of their film.

Kalakari film festival grants fee waivers T&C

  1. Eligibility: Fee waivers are available to participants from the UK - Britain - India, and Canada, subject to verification of residency.

  2. Fee Waiver Request: To request a fee waiver, you must add true proof of residence from the respective location. Proof of residence may include a government-issued ID, utility bill, or other official documents. The request will be processed within 2 working days of receipt.

  3. Student Submissions: Students wishing to qualify for a fee waiver must provide proof of enrollment or a valid student ID. This documentation must be submitted along with the film entry.

  4. Inclusivity Policy: In line with our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, fee waivers are also extended to female filmmakers worldwide and disabled individuals. No additional documentation is required for these categories.

  5. Verification: The Kalakari Film Festival organizers reserve the right to verify the authenticity of submitted documents. Any false or misleading information provided may result in disqualification.

  6. Decision: The decision to grant a fee waiver rests solely with the festival organizers. All decisions are final and binding.

  7. Amendments: The terms and conditions for fee waivers may be amended or updated at the discretion of the festival organizers. Any changes will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.

  8. Films must be able to be viewed theatrically (i.e. we can accept a single take fixed-view version of a VR film).

Awards: Winners in each category will receive prestigious awards and recognition, including certificates and trophies, to honor their achievements in filmmaking. In addition to category awards, special jury prizes may also be awarded to films that demonstrate exceptional creativity, vision, or social relevance.

Submission Process: Filmmakers interested in participating in the competitive strand can submit their films through our official submission platform, ensuring that all eligibility criteria and submission requirements are met.

Selection Process for Kalakari Film Festival:

  1. Initial Submission: Filmmakers submit their films to the Kalakari Film Festival through our official submission platform. Submissions must adhere to the festival's guidelines and criteria.
